Tax-funded care coordinated through the 'sundhedskort' (yellow card). Group 1 (most people) have a named GP who is a gatekeeper; care is free at the point of use.

How residents get care

1. Get your sundhedskort and choose a GP — Issued after CPR registration; pick a practice within ~15 km.
2. Contact the GP first — By phone, e-consultation or the 'Min Læge' app. The GP refers onward.
3. 1813 (Capital Region) / 'lægevagt' elsewhere for out-of-hours — Call before going to an emergency room.

If the region can't treat you within 30 days (for most conditions) you gain the right to a private or out-of-region hospital at public expense.
